What a delightful addition to the Elder Races Series!

Once again Pia and Dragos find themselves in a dire situation with an enemy from Dragos' past.
Pia is kidnapped while pregnant with their second child.
What the kidnappers don't realize is that you don't mess with Dragos (The Great Beast) and you certainly don't kidnap his pregnant mate.
He would burn the world to get her back and think nothing of it.
The stakes are high.
The story intense, and it had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

I loved this story, and I loved seeing appearances from some of my favourite characters from previous books.

If your a fan of The Elder Races Series, then this is definitely a must-read.

Their "dance" was a wonderful read, and an excellent addition to the Elder Races World.

Loved this story, and I REALLY like where the author is going with the series.

The writing, story, and characters where BRILLIANT!

I really enjoyed getting to know a little more about Aodhan, Illiam, and Naasir (even though I'm not quite sure what Naasir is).


Once again Raphael and Elana are passionate, charismatic, strong, stubborn, and PERFECT for one another.

Fans of the "Guild Hunter" series will not be disappointed!

Favorite Quotes:

"The Cascade happens and Neha calls fire and ice, Elena said into his mind at the same instant. Titus moves the earth, Astaad the sea, while creepy Lijuan brings the dead back to life. Meanwhile, my gorgeous archangel, not satisfied with, I don't know, shooting lightning bolts or something, actually taps into the energy of the planet and calls an army of bogeymen from the bottom of the ocean. Of course you do."
The dry commentary made him wonder how he'd ever walked through life without the wit and laughter of his hunter by his side. He could no longer imagine such a cold, remote existence, the idea of it spawning an immediate repudiation in his bloodstream.

His thumb caressing her cheekbone, his face close to her own. "You have never, and will never, weaken me. You make me a better man and a better leader than I would've ever been without you." "5-My Blade is Yours Stars!"

This book broke me.
In the first books in the series, Dmitri is portrayed as a cold-blooded, pain seeking, brutal leader.
But, once you read this book and get his backstory and history, your heart breaks for the things he's had to endure and what he's had to live through (and without) for almost an eternity.

I absolutely loved Dmitri and Honor's story!
Honor is perfect for Dmitri in every way.

I love these characters!!!
Elana and Raphael's relationship is so intense!
Can't wait for the next book in the series, so much can happen with Lijian and Caliane's characters!.... and the hint of Elana and Raphael having a child....(in the future of coarse)... amazing!
Guild Hunter is one of my favorite series' and this book did not disappoint!

This is an Audio review.
I've recently purchased the Romance Package at Audible and was thrilled to discover the Elder Races series was included in that package.
I really enjoyed listening to this story.
The narrator, Sophie Eastlake gives an excellent performance and does an amazing job of representing the characters and telling the story.

" 5 -Only one person, Only one thing Stars!"

Amazing!
This is the second story in the Elder Races series.
Ms Harrison has created an amazing world with Immortals such as Dragons, Thunderbirds, Gryphons, and Harpies. These creatures are apart of the Wyr Demense, as well as other Demenses' such as Faeries, Witches, Goblins, and Vampyres.

This story is about Niniane also known as "Tricks" to her Wyr friends who she has been living/hiding with for the last 200 years because she is the sole survivor of a coup against her family who was the reigning Royal family of the Dark Court at the time.
When her Uncle (who lead the coup against her family) is killed by Dragos, Niniane comes out of hiding to claim her rightful spot as heir to the throne.

In her first meeting with the delegation from the Dark Court, an assassination attempt is made on her. She barely survives the attack, but thanks to her intensive training with the Sentinels, she escapes and goes into hiding.
Dragos and the Wyr court watch the assassination attempt on all the media outlets, and Tiago their best tracker and warlord goes out with the intention of finding her and bringing her back to safety in New York.

From this point of the story on there are a lot of twists and turns, and it is a wonderful adventure.

I really enjoy this series and the amazing world Ms Harrison has created.

"5-Wake Up and Smell the Bear Stars!"

When you read a Shelly Laurenston book, you're guaranteed two things:
1) Amazing kick-ass strong, intelligent, sassy, funny characters and,
2) Great story-line, and writing with laugh out loud bantering between characters.

This book did not disappoint.
This was such a fun read.
Berg and Charlie were fantastic together, and I loved Max and Stevie's characters as well (I can't wait to read their stories).

I highly recommend this book!

As many of you know, I'm a HUGE fan of Mariana Zapata's writing and story-telling.
After reading [bc:The Wall of Winnipeg and Me|28318522|The Wall of Winnipeg and Me|Mariana Zapata|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1450991975s/28318522.jpg|48358625], I had one of the worst book hang-overs I've ever had.
In an effort to "cure" myself of this unfortunate situation, I went out and bought all of Mariana's audio books and re-read them.
I'm sad to say that I'm on the last of her books (so I hope she releases another book soon :-) )

This book...
I enjoyed it so much more the second time, so much so that I changed my rating from a 4 star to a 5 star rating.
As soon as I heard the description of Charles Dexter "Dex" Locke, I couldn't get the image of Chris John Middleton out of my head.
To me, he is who I envisioned Dex as looking like throughout the whole story.



Ms. Zapata tells a wonderful story about two people who have come from such incredible circumstances and survived, a little broken but a whole lot stronger for it.
Both are extremely closed off, and have major trust issues.
This is a beautiful journey of how Dex and Iris (Rissy) start out not liking one another AT ALL; to gradually tolerating one another; to friends - and eventually trusting and loving one another with their whole being.
One of my favorite lines in the book by Dex is, "Your the best thing that I never knew I wanted".
And from Iris, "Your the best thing that's ever yelled at me".

This story still holds all the great elements of a MC story, without all the angst (Thank God!).
The story is also a slow-burn romance, but once you "get there" (sweet baby Jesus, probably MORE so because I was listening to the dialogue and description **wags eyebrows**) -it's incredibly erotic.

LOVED this story!

**Side note: One of my favorite things about Ms. Zapata's stories, is that she usually incorporates or mentions her characters from her other books into her stories. She didn't do that in this story, but it is Dex's shop in Austin that Kulti goes to and has his tattoo work done. Nice!

Aww, what a great re-read.
It had been a couple of years since I picked this book up, so it was like reading this story for the first time.
Tristan and Katherine are still a couple of my favourite fictional characters.

Mariana has a wonderful talent for creating unique characters who normally wouldn't meet in any other circumstance other than the one that she's set up in her book.
I loved where and how these two characters met, and how they automatically "clicked".
Some people you meet and you just know there's something special there, and that was the case for Tristan and Kat.
I had a wonderful time reading how Tristan and Kat went from being friends- to best friends- to be each other's "most favourite person in the world".

The scenes, secondary characters, and dialogue were well written, engaging, and well developed.

If you're looking for a good story that is a little different with amazing characters and fantastic bantering, then I highly recommend this book for you.



Re-read: March 6-7, 2016
After rereading this story, I've re-rated it to a 5 star rating.
I enjoyed this story, even more, the second time.
I had forgotten how quirky Katherine (Kat) and Tristen were together, and how much I enjoyed their bantering and humour.
Loved it!

4.5 Stars!

This story was funny, sassy, and bold.

I really like the writing, story, and the colourful, unique characters.

Tristan and Katherine were funny as hell together!
From the first time they lay eyes on one another, there is automatic chemistry and a connection.

Their journey from acquaintance to friendship, and from friendship to lovers was amazing to read.



So many times I laughed out loud at their teasing, bantering and the situations they were in.

When they finally accepted (gave into) their attraction to one another, story went from being fun to sizzlin'!



This story is a little different from what you'd normally read in contemporary romance with funny, bold unique characters, and I highly recommend this book.

Mariana Zapata has become one of my favourite author's!

My thoughts

Whenever I read an L.H. Cosway book, I know I'm going to be reading something unique and extraordinary.
Once again Ms Cosway takes her readers on a wonderful journey of two remarkable people destined for great things.
The environment they live in doesn't encourage lavish dreams or exceptional lives, but rather a life where you're encouraged to settle and struggle for the best.
But Dylan and Evelyn are meant to be so much more, but unfortunately, tragedy strikes and their lives are changed forever.



Evelyn and Dylan were truly magnificent characters to read.
Their love and passion was beautiful, pure and honest.
Ms Cosway wrote these characters so well, that the reader (me) just knew and felt that these characters were destined to be together, and would never be complete without each other.
They complimented one other perfectly.



The writing, characters, and story were likeable and engaging.
If you're looking for something unique and smartly written, then I highly recommend this book.

When I finished this book last night and the first thing I wanted to do as soon as I woke up was tell everybody how friggin great this book was.

Marriage of Inconvenience is the last book in the "Knitting in the City" Series.

THE. LAST. BOOK.

I don't know if you realize the magnitude of this statement.
You see, readers of this series have gone on a wonderful journey of getting to know and love these incredibly SMART women who all met through a knitting group (and I say smart because when the reader is reading these books they are engaged, challenged, and encouraged to have an open mind to learn new things about the world and maybe even themselves ..... the use of a dictionary helps sometimes too).
These women are loyal, funny, colourful, and quirky, so of course, they need to have particularly unique partners "who get them".

I love this book!
The story was great.
The writing fantastic.
The characters were, dare I say, perfectly imperfect.

I finished this book last night and the first thing I wanted to do as soon as I woke up was tell everybody how friggin great this book was.

Marriage of Inconvenience is the last book in the "Knitting in the City" Series.
THE. LAST. BOOK.
I don't know if you realize the magnitude of this statement.
You see, readers of this series have gone on a wonderful journey of getting to know and love these incredibly SMART women who all met through a knitting group (and I say smart because when the reader is reading these books they are engaged, challenged, and encouraged to have an open mind to learn new things about the world and maybe even themselves ..... the use of a dictionary helps sometimes too).
These women are loyal, funny, colorful, and quirky, so of course, they need to have particularly unique partners "who get them".

I love this book!
The story was great.
The writing fantastic.
The characters were, dare I say, perfectly imperfect.

Staring at his chin, because I couldn’t quite lift my eyes any higher, I cleared my throat. “Should we get ready for bed?”
“Sure,” he said, his voice a rumble. Dan’s eyes were on me, I felt the weight of them.
My hands came to the hem of my skirt and I hesitated, feeling winded for some reason. Sneaking a glance at him, I immediately wished I hadn’t. His gaze was watchful, but it was also unmistakably hot in a way that seemed at once both avaricious and accusatory. The vice tightened around my lungs.
Kiss him! Just freaking kiss him! You want numbered steps? Fine. You kiss him- check. He kisses you back- check. Then you make out- check. Check the boxes.
I licked my lips, balling my hands into fists at my sides again, preparing to follow my hasty list.
But then he said, “Undress me.”
My breath caught. On instinct, my eyes lifted and collided with his in much the same way our bodies had collided at the top of the stairs just moments ago. Jarring. Startling. Thrilling. This time I couldn’t look away because this time I was falling. He made no move to catch me.
“What? What did you say?”
His eyes narrowed, which served only to increase the intensity of his gaze from smolder to inferno. “Take my clothes off.”
I stared at him, licking my lips again, and shaking my head. That wasn’t one of my steps.
Lifting my chin, I moved to kiss him. He leaned to the side, evading me even as his eyes dropped to my mouth.
“Take off my shirt and I’ll give you a kiss.” He’d used his naughty-secret voice.
An explosion of heat erupted in my belly, and now I was hot all over. I couldn’t figure out if the heat was embarrassment or arousal or both.
He didn’t give me a chance to figure it out. His hands lifted and he undid his cuffs; then they moved to the top button of his shirt.
“You better take over,” he said darkly, “or else you’re not getting that kiss.”
