Cream of the Crop

Cream of the Crop - Alice Clayton
5 "You can churn my butter stars!

Wow, where do I start with this review?

I finished this book last night with so many feelings.

1) Absolutely satisfied with the ending, because the protagonists were amazingly written and their story wonderful to read.
2) Absolutely sad that the story had ended because even though the story was well developed and written, I love this author's voice so much I didn't want it to end.
3) Absolutely ravished, because whatever book I'm reading of Alice Clayton's, I always end up hungry (from start to finish).
This woman writes about food like nobody's business! She makes it sexy, enticing, and everything SO, SO appealing! (I haven't craved cheese at 2 am since I was in my 20's and that was because Me and my friends would stop for pizza on our way home from the clubs.... ah, good times *grin*)

Nathalie's character was amazing to read.
She's a city girl. She loves her city, and the life she lives in it.
She was strong, confident, sexy, sassy, and her character was larger than life.
This woman didn't just live life, no, she embraced it.

This is one of my favorite quotes by Nathalie,
"But then I learned something important about men; something that almost without fail was always true.
Men love a naked woman. But more than that, they love a confident naked woman.
Now, everyone has a type, of course, and preferences about how tall or short, athletic or voluptuous, and there's no discounting that.
But a woman who loves her body, and knows what she wants? There's nothing sexier than that.
To a real man."

Oscar's character was a little more reserved.
He's a quiet man who generally keeps to himself.
Oscar is a dairy farmer from Bailey Falls, (Hudson Valley) and Nathalie has been stalking/creeping/lusting after him for a couple of years when he comes into the city to sell his wares at the farmer's market she goes to on Saturdays.

Their story was fun, intense (holy shit this woman can write some intense sex scenes!), and swoon worthy.

This book can be read as a standalone, but I think a new reader to the series would get more out of it if they read [b:Nuts|25056208|Nuts (Hudson Valley, #1)|Alice Clayton|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1445239638s/25056208.jpg|44737717] (the first book in the series).

The third book in the series, [b:Buns|32620341|Buns (Hudson Valley, #3)|Alice Clayton|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png|44737724] is set to be released May 23, 2017.

I highly recommend this story.
Enjoy! x
