Heller
Um....why haven't I read this book sooner?
I'll tell you why, because of the cover. In this case, PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY IT'S COVER!
This book was.. FASCINATING! (I can't think of a better word to describe it. Okay, NOW I sound like Spock)
The characters intrigued me right from the beginning, and had me captivated right til the very end. I seriously can't wait to finish this short review so I can start the next book. (Yep, totally hooked!)
The writing, storyline, and again the characters were brilliant!
Heller is the owner of the security company in this story, and he is one intensely, mysterious, dangerous dude!
He is often cold, curt, and arrogant when speaking to people particularly with Matilda (Tilly) in the beginning of the story.
But, Tilly is no push over. No sir-ee! She gives as good as she gets (love her!)
He regards the people who work for him as his people, and will stop at nothing to protect them, care for them, and keep them safe.
After a disastrous job interview, Tilly is hired by Heller to become apart of his team. She is the only female employee, and she soon discovers that the other people who work for Heller are an ensemble of 'broken' people who Heller has taken under his wing.
Tilly isn't broken, she just doesn't know what she wants in life (right now).
Her character is strong, intelligent, and sassy (just how I like my female leads).
In this book Tilly is exposed to a whole new world, and put in some very dangerous situations she's never had to deal with before, but she adapts quickly and powers through.
There is also an incredible sexual tension between Heller & Tilly that just makes you ache, and he's extremely possessive of her when other men show an interest in her.
The author had me engaged throughout the whole story, and left me just wanting more (hence, me starting the second book immediately).
If your interested in reading a story that has action, humor, suspense, a domineering sexy alpha male, and a sassy, smart, independent female...then READ THIS BOOK!
