Okay first off, I want say that I feel like I "FAILED" as a Kristen Ashley Addict, but unfortunately, I didn't think this story was AMAZING :((. I wanted to.. I honestly did, but there was something about the Callum that I just didn't love, and anybody who knows me..KNOWS I LOVE ME SOME KRISTEN ASHLEY ALPHA MALE LEADS!
The story had all the KA traits. The Über-Alpha-Male-Kick-Ass-Dominate-King lead, and the strong, broken, absolutely adorable, sweet, loveable female lead.
Callum didn't seem to come into his character until the very end, which was unfortunate, because he seemed to be 'CLUELESS' way longer than KA's other lead males, but when he did..WOW, it was epic.
But, what I didn't like was the whole friggn conspiracy involving Callum's mother, Gregor, Yuri, and even Sonia's parent's. I understand why they did what they did, but I still didn't like it.
I was SO emotionally involved in this story, that I thought it took forever (well it felt like it) for KA to get to the ending (or the good part), and put her readers out of their misery. (I actually doubted at one point we were going to have a HEA.. a FIRST in KA's writing, which is why I read her in the first place).
I had a HUGE knot in my stomach when Callum was dreaming of the dark haired wolf (even though I knew who it was).. but still...MAN..torture!!
What I loved about the story:
The history between Sonia and Callum (her puppy).
Their passion..Oh their passion was hot, sexy, and uninhibited!
HOLY SHIT!!
Callum giving Sonia the BEST Christmas ever at the cabin (which She's always referred to as her home).
..and of course the Epilogue! Makes me want to be in a secluded cabin in the woods, with the love of my life/mate
*sigh*...ya.. that good :)
I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE THIRD, AND LAST STORY IN THIS TRILOGY (of course KA gave us a little taste in the Epilogue to keep us 'eagerly anticipating' it's release *happy, but frustrated*).
